Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
